Ever since the Narcotics Control Bureau widened its search in connection with the alleged drugs case, several names in Bollywood have surfaced. While Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh are said to have procured and consumed drugs, Karan Johar’s 2019 party video that went viral for being a “drugs party” has re-surfaced.
The video showed several actors like Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor and Varun Dhawan among others where it looked like the stars were apparently “consuming drugs,” as claimed by Akali Dal leader and former MLA from Delhi’s Rajouri Garden seat, Manjinder Singh Sirsa in July 2019.
Sirsa had recently filed an FIR against the above-mentioned stars and had asked the NCB to begin an investigation on the same. The agency recently sent the video to a forensic lab to find out whether it is authentic. And now, the NCB has received the forensic report. Sources have claimed that the video has been found “undoctored” and “authentic” and the NCB will conduct a meeting soon to discuss the further course of action, as per a Times Now report.
In his statement earlier, Karan Johar had already cleared the air about the allegations, saying that he had already clarified his position way back in 2019 that it was false and claimed it to be a “malicious campaign” against him and his family. He also added that media reports are misleadingly mentioning that narcotics were consumed at his party.
A meeting will be called to decide on the next course of action.
