The Vijay-starrer Beast created a lot of buzz after the theatrical trailer was launched. But the film, which is all set to release on April 13, is already banned in Kuwait for a bizarre reason.
Kuwait upset with Beast
According to the reports, Beast will not find a release in Kuwait. The film has been prohibited by the Ministry of Information in Kuwait. With this strange decision, a lot of possible reasons were assumed. Some say that the drastic decision was taken due to the portrayal of Pakistan or because of the depiction of terrorism. Some even say that the ban was put in place due to the song ‘Arabic Kuthu’!
Meanwhile, some notable sources have claimed to have found the real reason behind the ban in Kuwait. “Vijay’s character in Beast gets into a battle with a high official of Pakistan. The Censors in Kuwait were hence not pleased with what they felt was the depiction of anti-Pakistan sentiment by the makers. Since the sequence is crucial in the film, there was no way that it could be edited out. As a result, the Ministry of Information in the middle eastern country decided to not allow Beast a release.”
Ban would not impact the film
Many experts believe that the film getting banned in Kuwait will not really impact the film.
“Kuwait is an important overseas territory. However, this ban would not impact the film to a great stretch. It has been cleared in UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, etc. It’ll also get a full-fledged release in North America, Europe, Australia, etc,” revealed a trade expert.
Meanwhile, there is also a Hindi version of the film Beast. The Hindi dubbed version has been named Raw and would clash with KGF 2 and Jersey. The film in Hindi is anticipated to be released on around 600-700 screens.
