Vijay Deverakonda Refuses To Watch Kabir Singh, Says He Has No Interest In Watching The Remake

Shahid Kapoor’s film Kabir Singh has emerged as a Bollywood blockbuster movie and is so far the highest grossing film of the year. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the Telugu remake has earned more than 250 crores in the box office. Vijay Deverakonda, who starred in the 2017 film Arjun Reddy, says he has no interest in watching Shahid Kapoor’s blockbuster Hindi remake, Kabir Singh.

Vijay Devarakonda has not yet seen the movie

During a media interaction in Bengaluru for his upcoming Telugu film Dear Comrade, the actor was asked by a journalist if he has watched Shahid Kapoor Kabir Singh film yet. Surprisingly the actor denied and said that he has no interest in watching the remake as he had already known the story.

He said, “Shahid has done that film, he has gone through the character and there is nothing for me to watch it again. I know the story, I have done that film, why will I watch it again.”

The reason behind, him not watching the movie is that he was busy shooting for his upcoming movie in a foreign country. And then he returned to Hyderabad earlier this week.

“I haven’t seen Kabir Singh yet as I was shooting in France. I came back to Hyderabad just a couple of days ago and have been down with viral fever since then. But I will catch it soon. I’m most curious to see what my friend and director Sandeep Vanga has done with the original story in the remake,” Vijay Devarakonda said.

Reason for not watching

He said that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had been requesting him to watch the Hindi remake. But he was not interested as he already worked in the story. He said, “Kya Picture, Kya dekenge. I wanted a Hindi film to be a big hit because Sandeep is my man. But unexpectedly, it became a blockbuster. Done. No more discussion there.”

Weeks ago the Telugu actor was very much excited about the Hindi remake film, but a sudden change of interest has raised many questions about his negligence towards the movie. On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor’s blockbuster Kabir Singh has grossed over Rs 250 crore from the Indian box office and has become the biggest movie of 2019 despite facing criticism for promoting violence against women.
