Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan will work on a Hindi film which will be a remake of the Tamil Blockbuster Theri. Originally performed by Thalapathy Vijay, the Hindi version will be helmed by Atlee Kumar himself.
Theri remake
South Industry’s well know filmmaker Atlee Kumar is busy working on his upcoming project Jawan. Composing an attractive star cast, the film features Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi with Thalapathy Vijay doing a cameo. While the film still has some time before it hits screens, the sources revealed that the director has roped in Varun Dhawan to feature in his next.
According to a report published in Bollywood Hungama, “Atlee and Varun have been in talks for a while about a new project. After much discussion, Varun has finally given the go-ahead for the venture. However, while he has verbally agreed to feature in Atlee’s next, the actor is yet to sign the dotted line.”
Atlee’s Bollywood journey
The sources added, “The film in question will be a remake of the Thalapathy Vijay starrer Theri. The said venture will be bankrolled by both Murad Khetani and Atlee, with the latter looking to commence work on the project either in June or September this year.”
Learning that Atlee is already contemplating his next has definitely piqued our interest and it will be interesting to see Varun Dhawan walking in the shoes of Thalapathy Vijay. The original film featured Vijay in the title role with Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson as the leading ladies.
