Bali Becomes the Most-Preferred Valentine’s Day Destination From Bengaluru For The Year

Valentine’s Day is here and people have already started making their plans to celebrate the day of love. Considering 14th of Feb falling on Thursday, several working couples are taking a day off on Friday to enjoy a long weekend in travel and adventure. Couples from cities across have planned trips to various domestic and international destinations to celebrate the special day. Among Bengalureans, the most sought-after domestic destination to celebrate Valentine’s day is Jaipur.

30% increase in Valentine’s Day Bookings

Jaipur being one of the most romantic travel destinations of India, it is attracting Bengalurians for obvious reasons. On the other hand, The Udaipur World Music Festival (February 15 to 17) is another primary attraction drawing them to Rajasthan.

As per a study conducted by a travel portal, Ixigo, there has been an increase of 30% in Valentine’s day bookings from Bengaluru to Jaipur. Also, an increase of 20% to Goa, 18% to Cochin, 15% to Dehradun, 14% to Port Blair, and 12% to Singapur is seen as compared to the previous year.

Bali is the most-preferred International travel destination

With bookings going up by 25% compared to last year, Bali becomes the most preferred Valentine’s Day destination from Bengaluru. Bali is followed by Bangkok (22%), Male (18%) and Auckland (8%). Without a second thought, airfares to these domestic and international locations have also shot up by 10% and 38% respectively.

“Jaipur is preferred due to several music festivals being held in Rajasthan. On the other hand, beach places have become the hot-favorite spots for couples, both domestic and international,” said CEO, Ixigo.

Sharath Dhali from Yatra.com said, “Valentine’s Day is not only marked with gifts and celebrations, but couples often look to travel to new destinations to explore them and spend quality time with each other.”

Considering the bookings happened on Yatra.com, there’s an increase of 69% in queries from Bengalurians looking to book tickets to Gokarna, Hampi, Goa, Dubai, Bali, and Singapore. In this context, bookings for villas and homestays have also seen a significant rise.
