Starring Rachita Ram and Real Star Upendra, the trailer of R Chandru’s I Love You dropped yesterday. Let’s see how well the trailer has managed to impress us.
The teaser of the film which came out a few months back didn’t get the reception it expected chiefly because of the edit pattern of the teaser. The trailer, though, is a better edited one. Within the first few seconds of the trailer, we see different avatars of Upendra; the one where he is half naked on the bed, the one where he gets off a chopper and the one where he becomes a student in the same college where Rachita Ram is studying.
Over the next two minutes, we see the bond develop between them and their take on love. It seems that the director, R Chandru who previously dealt with love in films like Taj Mahal and Charminar, will dive into the concept and the different perspectives of love with his new film.
Director Restricts Us To Believe Upendra
There is a possibility that we could see the old Upendra who dared to question the norms in the society but the director restricts us to believe that. The acting, especially a crying scene in the trailer, seems artificial and distracting from the core emotion. The actor Upendra under the director Upendra is totally different from the actor Upendra under any other director.
From the trailer, Rachita Ram might have got a bigger role in terms of length compared to her recent flicks. She looks good. We also see a glimpse of Sonu Gowda. Not much has been explored on her character in the trailer.
Looks Decent Enough
Though the trailer is better edited than the teaser, the problem of inconsistency remains. The constant shift in the tonality can put off a section of the audience but among the trailers released recently, this looks decent enough. Though it hasn’t impressed me totally however if they have an interesting narrative on the perspectives of love, it might well work out.
The film is set to hit the screens on the 14th of June. Like most of the YouTube comments on the trailer, we, too, would like to wish them luck.
