After 11 years since the Upendra starrer Buddhivantha released, we have got the announcement of Buddhivantha 2. However, the director says it is not a sequel.
Off late, Superstar Upendra has been busy with his political career because of which his next film I Love You was postponed. Now that the elections are over, his fans finally get the good news; his return to films. The actor took Social media to reveal the first look of his new film Buddhivantha 2.

Directed by Maurya DN
Buddhivantha 2 is being directed by Maurya DN who recently spoke to the media where he said, “From the time I started my script, I had Buddhivantha and Pithamaha in mind. Since one of Upendra’s films was already titled Buddhivantha, I was looking for another name. But I came back to Buddhivantha since the title fits the story. We had no choice but to go with this title.”
High Expectation
While Buddhivantha went onto become the highest grossing film of 2008, the expectations for Buddhivantha 2 will be high. The director categorically denied the speculations of it being a sequel. It is also the debut directorial of Maurya DN.
The speculation is also that Upendra will be playing a double role in the film. One of the roles he plays is that of a philosopher. Going by the Upendra we know, it will be really interesting to see him in such role.
Movie Cast
The film will also star Meghna Raj as the female lead. Aditya will be playing the antagonist for the very first time in his career. It is being reported that Sonal Monterio is the other female lead. Music director Gurukiran will be reuniting with Upendra after a long time. The cinematography is being helmed by Bharat Parashuram.
While Buddhivantha was directed by Ramnath Rigvedi and written by K Balchander, the second one, Buddhivantha 2 directed by Maurya DN will have the pressure to live up to the expectations of the title.
Upendra is currently busy with I Love You of R Chandru which co-stars Rachita Ram and Sonu Gowda. The film is reportedly ready to release.
