UP Police Eliminates Two Criminals Involved In The Killing Of 8 Policemen

As per the report in DNA, the Uttar Pradesh police has eliminated two criminals who were involved in the killing of eight policemen in Kanpur on Thursday night.

The Uttar Pradesh police confirmed the news that two of the men who were allegedly involved in the last night’s encounter have been eliminated. Speaking to the media, Inspector General of Kanpur Mohit Agarwal said,

“During a combing operation following last night’s encounter, two police personnel were injured and two criminals have been neutralized. We have also recovered weapons that were used in the firing at the police personnel at night. A search operation is currently underway to nab other accused. Villagers have been called for the identification of the two deceased criminals.”

At least 8 police officers of Uttar Pradesh Police were killed in an encounter with the criminals in Kanpur on Friday. A superintendent of police was also killed in the incident.

Vikas Dubey, The Most Notorious

The police team was approaching nab Vikas Dubey, who has been charged in over 60 criminal cases which later broke out into an encounter. The encounter took place in Dikru village which comes under Chaubeypur police station. It took place at midnight on Thursday.

The team had approached the hideout place of the criminal and just as they were about to arrest him, a chunk of bullets came towards them from a rooftop which killed the Superintendent of Police Devendra Mishra and three other subinspectors and four constables. As per the officials, the criminals might have got beforehand information about the raid. Vikas Dubey and his close aides had put up a huge roadblock that prevented police to approach their hideout. When the police team were unaware of what was happening, the criminals fired at them from a building rooftop

Following the incident, the special task force of Uttar Pradesh Police has been put to action. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath paid his tributes to the policemen and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family members of the deceased. Reportedly, he also directed the police to take stringent action against the miscreants. He has also asked the Chief of Police to collect the detailed reports from the spot immediately.
