Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the mobile phones of the attendees of the Tablighi Jamaat conference must be seized, and the call records have to be examined, in the wake of the conference becoming the epicenter of COVID-19 outbreak in India.
The hotspot for the outbreak of the virus in the country
The rise in cases in recent days has been attributed to the religious conference that happened in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi last month. With the members having traveled across the country, many cases have been reported in many states across the country.
Yogi gives strict instructions to Team-11
Comprising of senior officials in the UP government, Team-11 is an emergency group constituted by Yogi Adityanatha to tackle the coronavirus outbreak. In the latest set of instructions given to this team, Yogi has said:
“Be very strict with such people. Those who participated in the Tablighi Jamaat event should be caught. Seize their mobile phones and check their call details. Examine their belongings and if anything suspicious is found, seize it. Pay special attention to the cleanliness and sanitization of the places where such people are staying.“
Yogi stressed on the fact that the intentional violation of the social-distancing norms and the unruly behavior of the Tablighi members could be part of a well-planned conspiracy.
Apart from this, Yogi has also given a detailed set of instructions in the action plan dedicated to fighting the outbreak of the coronavirus in the state.
