'Raat Baaqi' was an influential part of my childhood playing often in nearby basti where I once lived. In my teenage fantasies of being a director – sigh – I had dreamt my 1st film named after da song. #BappiLahiri effect cant be missed on kids of my era. Rest in peace #DiscoKing

What we found most noteworthy was how Mumbai Police extended their condolences on the sad demise.
Referring Bappi Da as ‘Music of Gold’ and hinting on his gold chain, the post shared by the Police force quoted lyrics from the classic melody and read, “Yaar Bina Chain Kaha Re”. The text was supported with his never forgettable neck accessory to hint at the word ‘Chain’. “Bappi Da, Pyaar Kabhi Kam Nahin Hoga #KingOfHearts #MusicOfGold”, read the post caption.
