The trailer of Alia Bhatt’s new film Sadak 2 directed by her father Mahesh Bhatt was released on YouTube amid backlash of nepotism.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his daughter Alia Bhatt have been receiving backlash post the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. While Mahesh Bhatt was interrogated by the Mumbai police, there have been rumors of his close proximity with Rhea Chakraborty who has been a suspect in the abetment of suicide case.

His new film Sadak 2’s trailer has been dropped on YouTube. After it was dropped, the netizens pointed out a statement in the trailer that might have been offensive to the Hindu community. Critic Rohitt Jaiswal tweeted,

“In the trailer, Alia Bhatt says in Guruo ke vajah se maine kisi apne ko khoya hai, just for once remove the word GURU and replace it with Maulvi or Padri can you do that Mr. Bhatt? No discussion just replace it and relaunch the trailer. Not asking much @MaheshNBhatt #Sadak2Trailer.”

Even Kangana Ranaut’s team bashed Bhatt and said,

“Nice observation, can they replace Guru with Maulavi and Kailash scandal with Macca scandal? Do Sadhus lynchings have something to do with these prejudices? Why Pankistani pimps are allowed to spread religious hate and prejudices in Bharat?”

Vishwa Hindu Parishad Likely To Take Action

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also voiced its concerns over the trailer of the film. The spokesperson of the organization, Vinay Shankar Tiwari took to Twitter and said that the trailer has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. He said,

“Sanjay Dutt is the son of Sunil Dutt, Alia and Pooja are the daughters of Mahesh Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur is the brother of Siddharth Roy Kapur. They all have acted in Sadak 2, which was released today. Now, it’s time to tell Mahesh Bhatt that he and his film will meet the same fate as Khan brothers. This is nepotism.”
