The latest update on the drug case being investigated by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is that Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty has been granted bail by the Bombay High court. The actress was taken into judicial custody on September 8 after her name emerged in the alleged drug case. Though Rhea has been granted bail, she will have to follow certain conditions. Now, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde has reacted to the court’s order.
As per the condition, Rhea will have to mark her presence for 10 days after her release at the nearest police station. The actress will also have to submit her passport and seek the court’s permission if she wishes to travel outside India. Reacting to the court’s order, Rhea’s lawyer stated that they are “delighted” by the same.
In his statement, Maneshinde said, “We are Delighted by the Order of the Hon’ble Bombay High Court granting bail to Rhea Chakraborty. Truth and Justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal. The arrest and custody of Rhea was totally unwarranted and beyond the reach of the law. The hounding and witch hunt by three central agencies .. the CBI, ED, and NCB of Rhea should come to an end. We remain committed to Truth. Satya Meva Jayate.”
NCB, in their report, had stated that Rhea’s bail plea should be rejected as she might “tamper” evidences. Post Sushant’s untimely demise, his father, KK Singh filed an FIR against Rhea and five others for abetting his suicide. The actress has found herself amidst several controversies and alleged drug case.
Rhea and Sushant were in a live-in relationship and the actress left the latter’s house on June 8. Sushant was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14.
