First class travel is all about experiencing absolute luxury and style. From the moment you book till you board, every treatment meted out makes you feel like royalty. While some argue that the first class is on the decline (due to a resurgence in business class travel) there’s a lot of competition up the pointy end of the plane. Airlines are designing and delivering groundbreaking products and upping the ante with their onboard services.
So which airline should you choose? Without further ado, here are the five most stylish and luxurious airlines trending in first-class travel at the moment.
1) Emirates Airlines
From the very moment your body touches the seat in the Emirates airline, you’ll be cocooned in luxury. Modeled on high-end yachts, each individual suite is designed to be your very own residence in the sky.
Amenities include a personal mini bar, special pajamas designed to avoid dehydration and instigate circulation and a leather Bulgari travel vanity kit, which contains skincare essentials, colognes, razors, and other conveniences that will make the flight more pleasant. Your suite features doors that can be closed for maximum privacy, a 32 inch TV and soft and luxurious bedding.
The service doesn’t stop in the air, either. First class passengers enjoy VIP chauffeur transfers to and from their destination. What more could you ask for?
2) Etihad Airways
Etihad pioneered the first three room suite on an airline, called ‘The Residence’. While this product is out of reach of most people, their standard offering named ‘The Apartment’ provides more than enough luxury for the average person. Passengers are welcomed by a trained Butler that will be their personal butler throughout the flight and see to almost anything the guest needs. Guests can also order any dish of their choice from the onboard chef who knows a wide range of dishes and can dine on Caviar with a glass of high-end champagne. After your meal, stretch back on the separate bed in your very own studio apartment. Guests with kids also have the option of handing over their kids to a Nanny trained in Norland College, Bath.
3) Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines recently unveiled their newly remodeled first class suite – and it’s as big as a small hotel room. The seats are designed in such a way that if you are traveling with a companion, the walls of the individual seats can be dropped to enable a double bed to be configured. Suites feature a separate leather chair that can be controlled electrically to turn around 135 and 270 degrees, as well as a 32 inch TV. Singapore first class is well known for wonderful and top notch dinner services, with meals provided by great chefs all over the world. Not just one, but two, champagnes are served, and guests can dine on Caviar.
4) Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways might not seem as glamorous as other airways like Emirate and Etihad, however, they offer a commendable luxurious first class service. Guests are offered a pre-flight sampling of champagnes from around the world, tasty appetizers, and Oscietra Caviar. The seats are set up in a 1x2x1 configuration, and passengers are gifted with a set of pyjamas and luxurious amenity kits.
5) Qantas Airways
The Qantas first class service starts at your door, with a chauffeured pickup/drop-off and dedicated service at the airport. Once onboard, guests have a personal seat that can be turned into a seven-foot-long bed fitted with luxurious Sheridan bed linen. Passengers are gifted with Qantas free pajamas, an amenity kit, and travel socks, and can settle back to enjoy a Neil Perry inspired degustation meal.
