A row erupted after Andhra Pradesh CM tweeted ‘The Telugu flag is flying high’ as Naatu Naatu wins Golden Globes Award 2023. Following this, he was called out by Adnan Sami, who pointed out, ‘We are Indians first’. Defending the CM, Divya Spandana came up with a Tweet that justified the ‘Telugu flag’ move.
Row over flag
Singer Adnan Sami called out Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy after he congratulated SS Rajamouli’s RRR team for the historic win at Golden Globe Award. As the entire nation celebrated after the ‘Natu Natu’ song bagged the Best Original Song award at the global event, Jagan Reddy shared a controversial Tweet.
CM Jagan Mohan Reddy Tweeted, “The #Telugu flag is flying high! On behalf of all of #AndhraPradesh, I congratulate @mmkeeravaani, @ssrajamouli, @tarak9999, @AlwaysRamCharan, and the entire team of @RRRMovie. We are incredibly proud of you! #GoldenGlobes2023.”

Nevertheless, the Andhra CM’s congratulatory Tweet did not go well with Adnan Sami as he felt AP CM should have mentioned the Indian flag instead of the Telugu flag in his tweet.
Replying to the tweet, Adnan Sami wrote, “Telugu flag? You mean INDIAN flag right? We are Indians first & so kindly stop separating yourself from the rest of the country…Especially internationally, we are one country! This ‘separatist’ attitude is highly unhealthy as we saw in 1947!!! Thank you…Jai HIND!”

Defending Andhra Pradesh CM’s tweet, Kananda actor Divya Spandana aka Ramya supported Jagan Mohan Reddy’s congratulatory message.
In a Tweet, she wrote, “Yes, we are Indians but we are also Kannadigas, Tamils, Telugu, Bengali etc we all have our ‘flags’ just like we have our own language. We feel proud as Indians & also as people rooted by culture, language, flag. Unity in diversity ring a bell?”

Her statement is now going viral and netizens are thanking her to speak up about the issue.
Clearly, It's from the telugu industry, the majority of craftsmen were telugu, so this victory definitely adds up to the telugu pride. They have all rights to brand their victory in the form they wish!!
It's the success of telugu industry which is a part of Indian film industry.

Feeling proud for @divyaspandana and being a #Kannadiga we are Kannadigas. Unless we are treated equally by langauge basis
We say we are Kannadigas 1st, then anything else. Language discrimination is root problem of India. #StopHindilmposition— ಗೋಪಾಲ ಮೇತ್ರಿ (@MetriGopal) January 12, 2023
