Kangana Ranaut says Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2 are the only Bollywood films that worked this year, and they both had ‘superstar’ Tabu in central roles.
Tabu brings good luck to Bollywood
Actress Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, aka Tabu, is making headlines even at the age of 52. She is doing so many mixed roles that are surprising everyone. If this was not enough, Tabu has become a lucky charm for Bollywood. Whatever films she has acted till date have turned out to be big hits. She played a key role in Karthik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulayya 2 which made over 200 crores at the box office when Bollywood was struggling.
Now, her latest film Drishyam 2 has also become a smash hit as it has crossed the 80 crore mark. She has also a few Hindi and Tamil films lined up in the days to come. For now, Bollywood is terming her as a lucky mascot and Tabu has no problem with it.
Kangana praises Tabu
Actress Kangana Ranaut recently lauded Tabu and called her a superstar for ‘single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Kangana said Tabu was a part of the only two Bollywood films that ‘worked this year’ at the box office – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2. Kangana also said it was admirable that Tabu ‘reached the peak of her stardom’ in her fifties.
Kangana praised Tabu, 52, for looking ‘her best’ right now. She wrote on Instagram Stories, “Only two Hindi films have worked this year – Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2… and both films have superstar Tabu ji in central roles, slaying in her 50s… single-handedly saving the Hindi film industry. Her talent and consistency have never been questioned but to look her best and reach the peak of her stardom in her fifties is commendable.”
Kangana Ranaut called Tabu an inspiration, and further wrote, “I think women deserve much more credit for their unwavering dedication to their work… Such an inspiration.” She also added a bunch of clapping emojis to her note.
