On Sunday, the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh informed the media that the Mumbai Police has summoned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and the manager of filmmaker Karan Johar in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
Anil Deshmukh spoke to the news agency ANI and confirmed that the statement of Mahesh Bhatt will be recorded in a day or two. He also confirmed that the manager of filmmaker Karan Johar has also been contacted regarding the same. He also further clarified that the official summons has been sent to actress Kangana Ranaut and will be recording the statement soon. The news agency quoted him saying,
“Statements of 37 people recorded so far. Mahesh Bhatt to record his statement in a day or two. Summons sent to Kangana Ranaut to record her statement. Karan Johar’s manager has been called, if needed, Johar will also be called.”
Kangana Summoned
Last week, in an interview with Republic TV, actress Kangana Ranaut had raised questions on Mumbai police for not summoning Mahesh Bhatt, Karan Johar, Rajeev Masand, and Aditya Chopra. While both Masand and Chopra have recorded their statement, the summons has been issued to Johar and Bhatt including Ranaut.
The admirers of Sushant Singh Rajput had repeatedly asked the Mumbai Police to interrogate the biggies of the industry. Filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shekhar Kapur, and Dil Bechara director Mukesh Chhabra have already recorded their statement. Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty has also recorded the statement including the family members, friends, and his roommates. The casting director of Yash Raj Films Shanoo Sharma and the publicist of Sushant Rohini Iyer have also been interrogated.
Sushant Singh Rajput took his own life on the 14th of June. He was found hanging to the ceiling fan of his apartment located at Bandra’s Mont Blanc building. The actor was 34 years old.
