A special court in Mumbai on Tuesday granted the extension of Rhea Chakraborty’s judicial custody to the Narcotics Control Bureau for an additional 14 days. She will now remain in jail till October 6th.
Rhea’s lawyers had submitted a bail plea request which the court had to hear on Wednesday but was postponed due to heavy rains in Mumbai. However, Rhea’s bail plea has surfaced in which she is claiming her innocence by blaming Sushant Singh Rajput for using her to sustain his drug habits. While Rhea Chakraborty claims her innocence, Narcotics Control Bureau had described her as an “active member of a drug syndicate” in Mumbai.
“Sushant Singh Rajput was the only consumer of drugs and that he was directing his staff members to procure his drugs,” reads Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea.
Sushant used me, my brother Showik and members of his household staff to facilitate his own drug habit while ensuring that he did not leave a paper trail of his own in the form of any electronic evidence whatsoever,” asserts Rhea Chakraborty in her bail plea.
“It is unfortunate that Sushant Singh Rajput took advantage of those closest to him to sustain his drug habit and thought it fit to expose them to the perils that would entail,”. Rhea Chakraborty states.
In her bail plea, Rhea Chakraborty really tries to prove that it was just Sushant Singh Rajput who consumed drugs and nobody else.
“Therefore it is clear from the evidence collected by investigative agencies that it was only late Sushant Singh Rajput who was the consumer of drugs and who was in the habit of using those around him to facilitate his drug habit,” Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea says.
Can we believe in what Rhea Chakraborty is trying to mention in her bail plea? Is it right to blame the dead?
