“SRK is a fading star? Are you kidding?”: Ram Gopal Varma says Pathaan broke 4 myths

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has opened up about Pathaan’s success. And he feels that Shah Rukh Khan’s film has broken four myths.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan kicks off with a stupendous start at the Box Office. It has become SRK’s biggest-opening film of all time. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan has also overpowered KGF 2 (Hindi)’s box-office record. On the first day of its release, the film crossed the Rs 100-crore mark at the global box office. Several celebrities around the country have been praising Pathaan. And now, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has revealed the FOUR myths broken by the YRF film.

Ram Gopal Varma took to his Twitter handle and talked about Pathaan’s success. He opened up about the 4 myths broken by SRK’s movie. “1. Theatre collections will never be great again in times of OTT 2. SRK is a fading star 3. Bollywood can never make a COMMERCIAL BLOCKBUSTER like the south masala directors 4. It will take years to break the day 1 collection of KGF 2 ALL above MYTHS broken by PATHAN (sic),” he wrote.

All about Pathaan

Pathaan, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham was released in theatres on January 25. The spy action film, which marks the comeback of SRK after the 2018 release Zero, opened to an excellent response. It left the audience speechless and set cash registers ringing.

On its opening day, SRK’s film minted Rs 55 crore, which is the highest for any Hindi film. Worldwide, it made a whopping Rs 106 crore. Early reports suggest that the movie collected Rs 70 crore on Republic Day. Trade analysts are confident about Pathaan’s phenomenal run at the box office and we cannot wait to see what it achieves ahead!
