“Have courage and be kind,” is something we all have heard in the movie Cindrella, but does kindness comes with a price that we ought to pay on this planet?
This might be the current question hovering over Bollywood actor Sonu Sood’s mind, as his kind deeds have become the victims of big controversy. After his meeting with Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyar at Raj Bhavan on 30th May, a conspiracy theory emerged suggesting that Sonu is a BJP agent.
The controversy was fueled by Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut, when he said a new “Mahatma” called Sonu Sood had appeared all of a sudden during the coronavirus lockdown. Moreover, he questioned Sonu Sood about his source of funds that he used to help migrants. He also adding that sood “may soon meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and become the celebrity manager of Mumbai.”
Looking into all these controversies, Sonu Sood has clarified that he has nothing to do with politics.
“I have nothing to do with politics. I am doing this purely out of my love for migrants. I want to help reunite them with their families.”
He estimates that he has helped 18,000-20,000 workers to go back to their homes in states such as Odisha, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
“I intend to work till the last migrant reaches his home. The journey has to continue in full force. No one should be rendered homeless. We want them to reach home safely,” Sood said.
After Shiv Sena slammed him and said that he was intending to show the Thackeray government in poor light and that BJP had propped him to offer help, Sonu Sood met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray at Matoshree.
