Anupama Chopra announces roundtable season with this year’s epic South Filmmakers but fails to call top directors from the Kannada Industry. Netizens have given a sharp reaction to the same.
Roundtable season with filmmakers
South Indian movies are not just minting money in their home markets but they are also having a successful run in theatres across the country. Be it Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, or Malayalam films, all of them have found an audience in the Hindi belt as well. This trend of regional movies working pan India has seen an upward trend after theatres reopened in October following a nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus. And, now with the release of PS1, Vikram, RRR, KGF 2, and Kantara, more footfalls are seen in theatres than any recent Bollywood movie.
The Hindi-language Mumbai-based film industry known as Bollywood has been the most visible part of the Indian film industry over the decades but that dominance appears to be weakening. To talk about the same, Anupama Chopra has announced a show called ‘Round Table Session’ on her YouTube channel called ‘Film Companion’. In this talk show, top directors from South Industry like SS Rajamouli, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Kamal Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Swapnadutt Chalasani, and Gautham Vasudev Menon are taking part.
We’re kicking off roundtable season with this year's epic FC Filmmakers’ Adda with artists of some of the year's biggest hits – here’s presenting – @ikamalhaasan @ssrajamouli @Dir_Lokesh @SwapnaDuttCh @PrithviOfficial @menongautham

Sadly, skeptic Anupama has failed to invite top directors from the Kannada Industry. Fans have also noticed the same and are slamming the movie critic for the same.

Yet again didn't invite anyone from #KFI. She is a critic who find mistake in movies but always does blunder during interviews. Could have called up @Kiranraj61 or anyone.@rakshitshetty @shetty_rishab
