With plenty of vintage Television classics finding their way back at the moment, undoubtedly, Shaktimaan is also on everyone’s minds. Although we cannot confirm a re-telecast, we have other good news for the fans of India’s most popular Superhero.
Shaktimaan sequel on the cards
Mukesh Khanna, who played the titular role of Shaktimaan, has revealed that there is the visibility of producing a sequel to the highly-loved TV show in the coming months.
Speaking to the Bombay Times, he said:
“For the last three years, we have been working towards bringing out the second edition of Shaktimaan, which is contemporary but rooted in our values. We were working on the sequel because people wanted to know, aage kya hua.”
Demand for the show is at an all-time high
Although the demand for a second part has always been there, Mr. Mukesh said that with the current crisis, the desire to make a sequel is at an all-time high. He said:
“I feel whenever we return to work after this crisis, I will be in a better position to bring out the second part because the demand for it is higher than ever before.”
Latest appearances of Shakthimaan
In 2011, Shaktimaan: The Animated Series was shot and telecast in Sonic. Two years later, a serial called Hamara Hero Shaktimaan was telecast on Pogo. The show featured Mukesh Khanna in the lead role, while Uday Sachdeva appeared as Junior Shaktimaan.
A 3D Animated Series is also in the works, the trailer of which was launched in Comic-Con last year.
