Afridi on Hindu customs

An old video of Shahid Afridi has emerged where he can be seen saying that he smashed a TV at his house after he saw his daughter imitating an ‘aarti’ scene while watching an Indian show.

In the video, Afridi is questioned by a host if he ever smashed a TV in his house when he was upset, to which he answers: “I smashed my TV once, because of my wife. These daily soaps on Star Plus were quite popular then. I had also requested my spouse to watch them alone and not with our kids.”

The other day, as soon as I came back home, I saw one of my kids performing ‘Arti’ while watching a Star Plus show. I then crushed the TV inside the wall with anger.”

The video getting viral comes at a time when former Pakistan cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Danish Kaneria grasped headlines for some of their isolated events. In a game show, Akhtar claimed that there were many who did not want Kaneria (former Pakistan leg spinner) to be part of the Pakistan team because of his Hindu faith and said that some players even refused to shared food with Kaneria.

Following this comment, Kaneria said that whatever Shoaib Akhtar has spoken about the leg-spinner was true.
