Shah Rukh Khan Announces His New OTT App. But It’s Just An Ad?

Shah Rukh Khan has revealed his new OTT venture on his social media accounts. The Bollywood King has named his platform something called SRK+, with a message that reads “Kuch kuch hone wala hain, OTT ki duniya mein (something is going to happen in the world of OTT).” But is this news for real? Let’s find out.

SRK’s new OTT platform?

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently shared a picture on Twitter about his new OTT venture, it’s a poster that reads “SRK+, coming soon”. Following this announcement, loads of celebrities including Salman Khan congratulated SRK for his “new OTT app”.

Salman retweeted the actor’s post, adding: “Aaj ki party teri taraf se (the party is on you today). Congrats on your new OTT app, SRK+.”

The 56-year-old actor, who has been away from the big screen since his last release Zero in 2018, is yet to confirm if SRK+ is indeed his new OTT app.

Surprisingly, a report in ETimes suggests that the poster is simply a hint to an upcoming ad for Disney+ Hotstar. SRK has been shooting plenty of ads for this platform and this might be just one more of it.

A source says, “One wonders how and why there was so much guesswork being done regarding Shah Rukh’s poster. A right official announcement may soon be in the offing.”

Adding fuel to the big confusion, SRK’s Bollywood friends stood up to congratulate him. His post was backed up by Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who also revealed in a tweet that he will be collaborating on SRK+ – “Dream come true! Collaborating with @iamsrk on his new OTT app, SRK+,” Anurag Kashyap tweeted.

SRK’s long-time collaborator Karan Johar also looked enthusiastic and tweeted “Biggest news of the year. This is going to change the face of OTT. Super excited.”
