Born on July 7th, 1983, Rishab Shetty is one of the most talented individuals in the Kannada Film Industry as of now. Having started his career as an assistant director, Rishab is soon developing into someone who has the ability to succeed in the likes of Shankar Nag and Upendra as an actor-director in Sandalwood. With a number of interesting projects in the pipeline, here is what has led to Rishab becoming a celebrated figure across the state.
An orthodox film making journey
Unlike many of the aspirants who struggle to decide how they want to dive into filmmaking, Rishab started it out simple by securing a diploma in film direction from Government Film and TV Institute, Bangalore. He then assisted the likes of AMR Ramesh and Arvind Kaushik to finetune his filmmaking skills.
Starring his close friend Rakshit Shetty in the lead, Rishab directed his first movie Rikki in 2016. The movie received praise for its content and technicalities. However, it was the blockbuster success of Kirik Party later that year which catapulted Rishab to the top league.
He followed it up with the hugely impressive SHPS Kasargod which established him as a reliable filmmaker. With Rudraprayag and Katha Sangama coming up, we can surely expect this man to throw us a lot of surprises with his direction.
The perfect career-graph of an actor
It took 7 years for Rishab Shetty to finally make his debut as a lead actor in Sandalwood. He donned the grease paint in 2012 with the movie Tuglak. He came up with a few more cameos in Lucia, Ulidavaru Kandanthe, Attahasa, Ricky and SHPS Kasargod until Jayatheertha saw the unique charm in Rishab as an actor.
With a matured performance, Rishab was influential in making Bell Bottom one of the best movies to have come out in 2019. In Katha Sangama and Antagony Shetty, Rishab is coming out with versatile roles that will surely be remembered for long.
