The newly released trailer of much-anticipated Ayan Mukerji’s directorial ‘Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva’ is indeed a treat for Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s fan base. But it seems like not everyone is giving in to the hype.
90s animated cartoon series
Despite having amazing work on VFX, Netizens are upset about the story and have pointed out similarities between the ’90s animated cartoon series ‘Captain Planet’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s film.
With the trailer of ‘Brahmastra’ concentrating on natural energies like Fire, Water, and Wind, the Captain Planet intro video also appears to have a similar theme according to many netizens. The cartoon starts off with a theme song that has lyrics that read, “Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! Go planet! By your powers combined, I am captain planet!”

#BrahmastraTrailer reminded me of this classic gem. The elemental powers coming together to save earth (which in this show's case is ofc America). But Captain Planet was love. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/QJlRH48jhZ

#Brahmastra could very well be India's Eternals! It comes LOADED with the pan India sentiment & has the ability to pull HUMONGOUS footfalls, owing to desifying the mythology. #RanbirKapoor is standing on the edge of creating history!#BrahmastraTrailer @DharmaMovies #AliaBhatt

ROFLMAO watching the #BrahmastraTrailer. Tacky AF!
Integrity goes for a toss when your motivations are corrupt, and you know money returns easy by selling rights. #Bollywood!#Brahmastra is a mix of Shaktimaan, Captain Planet, Power Rangers, Nagin, Aabra ka Daabra, Jaani Dushman.— shubhankar.c (@monkeypreneur) June 15, 2022
So #Brahmastra is basically a desi, non-animated version about the Origins of Captain Planet!!
