Bollywood under attack

After the pandemic, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise collected Rs 108.26 crore across India. Later, SS Rajamouli’s RRR took the box office by storm and earned Rs 240.79 crore. Now, KGF 2 has started its journey at the box office on a high.

South Indian movies are not just collecting money in their home markets but they are also having a successful run in theatres across the country. Be it Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, or Malayalam films, all of them have performed well in the Hindi belt as well.

Recently KGF: Chapter 2 directed by Prashant Neel has collected 53.95 core on the first day in the Hindi belt beating Hrithik Roshan’s War and Aamir Khan’s Thug of Hindostan.

Ram Gopal Varma’s thought

The controversial director Ram Gopal Varma feels it’s the best time for Bollywood to learn a lesson from South Film Industry.

In a Tweet praising KGF: Chapter 2 and director Prashanth Neel, the filmmaker wrote, “What do you think the Hindi film industry (aka Bollywood) will be thinking about how a Kannada dubbed film #KGF2 and a Telugu dubbed film #Bahubali2 are the biggest ever openers in the history of Hindi cinema ???”

“The MONSTER success of KGF 2 is a clear proof that if money is spent on MAKING and not wasted on STAR RENUMERATIONS bigger QUALITY and BIGGEST HITS will come,” he wrote.

Pouring praises on KGF director Prashanth Neel, the 60-year-old said that a small industry like the Sandalwood industry has made such a big film that even Telugu and Tamil industries can’t ignore it.

“Forget Hindi film industry, not even Telugu and Tamil film industries ever took Kannada film industry seriously till KGF and now Prashanth Neel put it on the world map,” he writes.

Explaining how Yash starrer has affected the mindset of Bollywood, the filmmaker said, “Like very much how Rocky Bhai comes to Mumbai to machine-gun the villains, Yash is literally machine-gunning all the Bollywood stars opening collections and its final collections will be a nuclear bomb thrown on Bollywood from Sandalwood.

He further explains why the Yash starrer movie can bring nightmares to Bollywood biggies. “Prashanth Neel’s ‘KGF2’ is not just a gangster film but It’s also a HORROR film for the Bollywood industry and they will have nightmares about its success for years to come,” he explains.
