Recently released action thriller ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ managed to go above and beyond the expectations of the masses. The film has turned out to be a huge Box Office success and it has become a talking point among fans as well as celebs. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma took to social media and delivered a special message for Prashanth Neel on the occasion of director’s day.
Director’s Day
The 4th of May is observed as Director’s Day, an official yet special event to celebrate film directors and their work. However, Ram Gopal Varma expresses his dislike for the day and defies calling the day an ‘unhappy director’s day’. He even called Prashanth Neel, director of KGF, the Veerappan of Indian Cinema.
In a Tweet, he wrote, “I wish a very UNHAPPY Directors day to @prashanth_neel for so royally FU****ING every director’s mind everywhere whether it’s in BOLLYWOOD, TOLLYWOOD, KOLLYWOOD, and even in SANDALWOOD…Sir Prashant Neel, U are the VEERAPPAN of indian cinema.”

Love for KGF
Director Prashanth Neel’s latest movie KGF 2 is on a dream run after crossing the Rs 1000 crore mark. The action thriller featuring Yash in the lead role has been getting an overwhelming response ever since it was released. Audiences are in awe of the action movie and seems like director Ram Gopal Varma too has totally enjoyed the film.
Evidently, he has been praising the KGF team and slamming the other film industries for not hitting the mark. Recently, he has shared a number of tweets in support of KGF and its team. He even went on to challenge Bollywood actors like Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar and asked them to dub their Hindi films in Kannada and Telugu to challenge the likes of Prabhas, Yash, and Allu Arjun. The filmmaker’s love for Sandalwood is an unending story.
Meanwhile, The Yash-starrer has now become the second-highest-grossing Hindi film after SS Rajamouli directed Baahubali 2 which starred actor Prabhas in the lead role.
KGF Chapter 2 surpassed Aamir Khan’s Dangal which had earned Rs 387.38 crore in its lifetime collections at the box office in India. Now, with Yash’s film surpassing that figure, KGF Chapter 2 has become the second-highest-grossing Hindi film just behind Baahubali 2.
