A bold move
A few weeks back, the Modi government had revoked the provisions of Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into union territories. J&K with legislative and Ladhak without legislative. Rajnikant compared the combination of PM Modi and Shah to Lord Krishna and Arjuna. The duo combination(Krishna and Arjuna) played a key role in the Pandavas winning the Mahabharata battle against the Kauravas.
Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam was also present at the book launch event titled the dissolution of Article 370 of the Constitution as a ‘daring’ move by Modi and Shah. He said, “I am confident that this extremely significant politico-constitutional measure will not only strengthen the unity and integrity of India but also reinforce federalism by placing all states on an equal footing.”
Earlier in 1984, the AIADMK led by late J Jayalalithaa demanded an end to Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
