PM Modi Wishes ‘Good Health And Long Life’ To Rahul Gandhi On His Birthday

rahul gandhi birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Rahul Gandhi “Good Health and Long Life” on his 49th birthday as greetings from his party supporters and well-wishers kept on showering. The Congress Party workers greeted their chief in large numbers as a result #HappyBirthdayRahulGandhi started trending on major social media platforms.

Congress Wishes Its President With A Video

On the occasion of the birthday of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party put up a video titled, “5 times Rahul Gandhi inspired Indians everywhere” for wishing its president. The Prime Minister of India also sent his good wishes.

In the recently concluded 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi led the campaign of Congress Party. He was involved in a war of words with the current PM of India during the campaigning with the former hurling humiliation at Modi using “chowkidaar chor hai.”

On the rebound, Modi hit back calling Rajiv Gandhi, the father of the Congress chief as “Bhrashtachari No.1 (corrupt no.1). That is why this tweet by Modi has triggered quite an interest among the netizens who are fired up with this sudden change in the approach.

Massive Defeat For Rahul Gandhi

The Congress Party suffered a massive defeat in the polls and could not even open the accounts in around 19 states and Union Territories. Somehow it managed to win 52 seats against 353 seats won by the BJP-led NDA alliance.

The loss was made all the more humiliating after Rahul Gandhi could not even retain his home turf Amethi and lost to Smriti Irani of BJP. Fortunately enough, he had contested from Wayanad in Kerala and managed to win there and thus could continue at least his status as Member of the Parliament for another term.

Post the second-worst defeat of the party in its history Rahul Gandhi offered to resign from his post and asked his party to find a suitable successor. But senior party leaders asked him to continue. It should be noted that both the times when the party faced its worst defeats of all times, Rahul Gandhi was the president.

Despite a bad track record, it is quite an irony that Rahul Gandhi still gets to continue as the president of one of the oldest political parties of the country.
