Telugu film Karthikeya 2, starring Nikhil Siddhartha, which is a pan-India film, was released on 13 August. It has been doing wonders at the box office, especially in Hindi. In just 11 days, the film has collected nearly Rs 17 crore in Hindi. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Karthikeya 2 also features Anupama Parameswaran and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
Nikhil Siddharth and the team are celebrating the success of their super hit action-adventure film. The movie surpassed its competition in terms of box office collections and theatre occupancy in comparison to Bollywood films Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan.
In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Nikhil Siddhartha expressed how glad he felt about the success of Karthikeya 2. The actor also got emotional remembering his father, Shyam Siddhartha, who passed away on April 28.
“I realize my responsibility now and will be very careful. The golden opportunity that the audience has given to me, I will try to keep it up and not ruin it,” the actor said while speaking to Pinkvilla.
“I come from a non-filmy background and becoming an actor in itself is a big thing for me. I feel the same vibe today as my first film Happy Days. The kind of love and reception people are giving feels so fresh again. It is exciting that a new section of the audience is watching me,” he adds.

Arjun Kapoor’s statement
For the unversed, In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, when Arjun Kapoor was asked about movies becoming a target of boycott trend, he said, “I think we made a mistake by being silent for so long. Our decency was taken for our weakness. We always believe in ‘let the work speak for itself, all this doesn’t matter. We tolerated it a little too much. Now people are used to it.”
Arjun was speaking with regard to Bollywood’s low-grade performance at the box office in the last few months. Recently, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan also failed to make an impact at the box office.
Arjun however accepted that the only way to change the course of the box office was to make better films. “The last two months have been detrimental to the film industry because a lot of films have not done well. Do I feel it is a narrative created? No. I feel some films have not been good enough. At the same time, the narrative does not help either. People who are creating the narrative get more ammunition when the film is not as good,” he said.
