Pakistani Minister Fawad Chaudhary, who bragged about the Pulwama attack claiming that it was an ‘achievement under leadership of Imran Khan’, he has now taken a U-turn on it, saying that the remark was ‘misinterpreted’. Chaudhary said that he had spoken about the strong response of Pakistan after the airstrike from India on February 26 last year which was mistaken.
Talking to a news channel, he said that there were two incidents in Pulwama last year. One took place on February 4 and the other on February 26. Fawad claimed that the incident he had mentioned in Parliament was on February 26 when India tried to ‘cross Pakistan’s border and got a befitting reply’.
Fawad said that what happened in Pulwama on February 14 was definitely shocking and Prime Minister Imran Khan also sought proof of Pak’s involvement. Fawad also claimed that he does not like terrorism but we will not step back in protecting the country’s self-respect.
It may be recalled that Fawad Chaudhary had earlier given a statement in Pakistan’s Parliament that Pakistan was involved in the attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama in 2019. He said that the Pulwama attack is an achievement of Pakistan. He also credited Imran Khan and his party PTI for the Pulwama attack. But seeing his statement causing damage to the Pakistani Army, now he is seen to be overturning this statement.
Fawad said that ever since the Modi government came to power India, there is too much talk of war. “They keep on saying that fight the war with China, fight the war with Pakistan, fight the war with Bangladesh, fight the war with Nepal. I do not understand why India wants to go to war so much,” Fawad said. He added that Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa knows what to do.
