Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is known for his undercover sarcasm, of course, added to it is the use of his language. He keeps making comments with his tweets on various issues and news that happen in the country. In a recent tweet, Tharoor said, “Far more dangerous than Omicron is ‘O Mitron’.”
The tweet and the matter
In this tweet of 31 January 2022, Tharoor wrote, “Far more dangerous than #Omicron is “O Mitron”! We are measuring the consequences of the latter every day in increased polarisation, promotion of hatred & bigotry, insidious assaults on the Constitution & the weakening of our democracy. There is no “milder variant” of this virus.”

The worded attack apparently was aimed at PM Modi and his administration. PM commonly uses the word ‘Mitron’ in his speeches which means friends. He speaks about how there is an increase in polarisation, promotion of hatred among the communities in the country.
He also went on to say, that there is no milder variant of this virus. Two days before his attack at PM, the Congress MP had brought Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath under fire and said, “you don’t know how much damage you have caused to the country”, and hash-tagged ‘Inclusive India’.
InclusiveIndia #weWillNotRetreat pic.twitter.com/QoY2IJ7Vja— Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) January 29, 2022
The ruling party has reacted in different ways and accused Congress of mixing the pandemic with politics and said that it is a bad thing to do. Meanwhile, like almost all the other times Tharoor tweets, the internet is divided on the issue.
