Mughals Were The ‘Original Nation Builders’ Says Director Kabir Khan, Twitter Calls Him ‘Talibani’

 Director Kabir Khan is one of those personalities who is always frank on his opinions and seeks no hesitation in unveiling his thoughts on certain matters. Recently in an interview Kabir Khan opened up on his views regarding muslim rulers and he states that demonising them upsets him and actually they were the real nation builders claims Kabir.He also said Mughals are always villified with a popular narrative that we are learning since childhood about the atrocities they caused but there is always an alternative side for those actions. Owing to his remarks Twitterati started calling him a ‘Talibani’.

Kabir Biased For Mughals

Expressing love and respect for Islamic invaders, film director Kabir Khan revealed narrated-“I find it hugely problematic and disturbing because what really makes me upset is that it’s being done just to go with the popular narrative. If you want to demonize the Mughals, please base it on some research and make us understand why they were the villains that you think they were.”

He also added that;“If you do some research and read history, it’s very tough to understand why they have to be villainized. I think they were the original nation-builders and to write them off and say they murdered people? Please point out the historical evidence. Please have an open debate, just don’t go with the narrative that you think will be popular.”

Kabir later declared that he won’t compromise with his ideologies and spoke about how wrong politics can influence the masses as mainstream movies have a great influence over people.Kabir Khan is one of the prominent directors of movies like Bajrangi Bhaijan and New York and his father Rasheeduddin Khan was a nephew of former President Dr Zakir Hussain.

It is still not at all a convincing statement that how did Khan conclude that Mughals were the “original nation builders”, because India was a rich and vibrant civilisation long before the Mughals came to loot.
