PM Narendra Modi has followed the tradition of introducing us to new people who have been doing some work in his monthly talk show Mann Ki Baat. This time around, it is the turn of Mali-based Seydou Dembele who finds the mention in PM Modi’s speech.
Who is Seydou Dembele?
A teacher, Seydou Dembele has been presenting a one-hour radio program called ‘Indian Frequency on Bollywood Songs’ every Sunday for 23 years. PM Narendra Modi said that Mr. Dembele has huge respect and love for the Indian culture.
Recently, Mr. Dembele has started a new show at 9 pm every Sunday. In this show, he explains the story of a Bollywood movie in French and Bambara. The latter is the National language of Mali, a West African country.
Dembele was born on August 15th
Incidentally, Seydou Dembele was born on August 15th, India’s Independence Day. He was introduced to the Indian culture by his father, who used to work at a theater that used to play Bollywood movies.
PM Modi also said that on August 15th this year, Mr. Dembele had greeted Indians with a message in Hindi. He further revealed that he met Mr. Dembele at Kumbh, where the Mail national was a part of a delegation. Modiji added that Mr. Dembele’s love for India is a matter of pride for us.
Seydou Dembele’s message was also played out on the show. He said that he visited Kumbh Mela, the biggest religious festival, in the month of February. He went on to say that it was a proud feeling for him to learn more about Indian culture. Further, he wished that he would get another chance to visit the country.
