Maestro Ilaiyaraja And His Team To Perform At First-Ever Concert Hosted At Bengaluru Airport

A world-class concert arena at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport will witness its first-ever musical concert. To make this debut event superlative, South Indian music legend Illaiyaraaja will be performing at the venue. He is expected to present hit Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu songs during the concert, which is expected to be attended by an audience of about 16,000 people.

The world-class arena spread up to 6.3 acres is operated by KIA. It has a capacity to accommodate up to 9,000 people and is capable of hosting events like music concerts, award shows, exhibitions, and weddings. It is the first airport in India to host a world-class concert and the authority is gearing up to have its first event this Saturday. At its first concert, Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja will be seen performing classic and hit songs of Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.

The concert will be on 16th November at 6 pm and other than Ilaiyaraaja, SP Balasubrahmanyam, Usha Uthup, and Shubha Mudgal are also expected to sing at the concert.

His first concert in Bengaluru 

The legend told that this would be his maiden concert in the city with his complete orchestra team. “I want to give my Bengaluru fans a musical treat and have no doubt it will succeed. Kollur Mookambika is nearby,” he said

“I will perform evergreen Kannada hits along with timeless tunes from other languages, keeping in mind the cosmopolitan nature of Bengaluru. I don’t want to announce the song list as it will kill the element of surprise, but rehearsals have commenced,” he added.

The venue is right next to the newly-built South Access Road and about 16,000 people are expected to attend the occasion. For the concert, parking systems have been made on a pa-pay basis at the P1 and P2 parking bays.
