After the announcement of the extension of lockdown in the country by the Ministry of Home Affairs, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap put out a tweet criticizing the move and also lashed out at the government for lack of plans, strategy, and money.
Anurag Kashyap who is fairly active on Twitter wrote in his tweet,
“Lockdowns will keep going on, they’re not going to stop. The government has no plan, no strategy, and has no money either. It’s time for all parties, economists, scientists, corporates to come together and find a workable solution. The initiative has to come from the PM himself.”
Kashyap urged the opposition parties and the party in power to come together for the cause to help solve the crisis. He also hinted that it is time that the country listens to experts in economy and science with the financial power of corporates to come together on one platform to find a solution. However, this is not the first time Kashyap has lashed out at a move of the government.

Earlier this year, the acclaimed filmmaker was actively seen taking a stand against the government’s Citizenship Amendment Act which caused nationwide protests in different cities and towns. He was the first one from the film industry to take a stand against the law after which many artists joined. Kashyap had also spoken against the Congress regime when his film ‘Black Friday’ was banned in the country.
Measures in place say MHA
On Friday, taking into account the situation of COVID-19 in the country, the Ministry of Home Affairs came out with an order announcing the extension of the lockdown in the country. The decision came out after a comprehensive review of the situation, the ministry said. There have been certain relaxations granted in the green zone regions which have not reported a single case of the novel coronavirus for the last 21 days. However, certain restrictions will continue to stay in place in green zones too. That includes plying of cycle rickshaws and auto-rickshaws, inter and intra-district movement of buses and vehicles, barbershops, salons, and spas.
The country, so far, has reported over 37,000 coronavirus cases out of which 1,152 have died and over 10,000 have recovered successfully.
