Meet 21 YO Lexie Alford, The Youngest Woman To Have Seen Every Country On The Global Map

While there are many who are even tired of doing their daily routines, there are a few enthusiastic citizens of the world who cannot stop going from one place to the other. Lexie Alford, a 21-year-old young woman has become the youngest woman to have reached every country on the global map. Incidentally, she broke the Guinness World Record of 24-YO James Asquith when she stepped in North Korea on 31st May.

Lexie Was Inspired By Her Parents

Lexie’s parents ran their own travel agency from where she got the knack to travel since she was a kid. According to her, Lexie’s parents traveled all the time which developed an interest in her to keep on traveling.

Lexi says,  “ My parents placed a lot of importance on exposing me to every way of life around the world and that had a very profound impact on the person I am today. I’ve always had a curiosity about other people’s ways of life and how they find happiness. ”

The young traveler says that initially, she did not intend to break any record. However, later on, she found out that people were looking up towards her to break the record and hence she decided to go for it.

According to Lexie,” It wasn’t until things started getting really challenging that I realized I was inspiring people around me, especially young women. Feeling that support meant that I couldn’t give up when things got tough. I was determined to show everyone that the world isn’t as scary as the media portrays it to be and that there’s kindness everywhere.”

The Young American Self-Funded Her Global Trot

The idea of traveling all the countries and breaking record came to Lexie after she completed her 12th grade in October 2016 in her home, California. Lexie graduated two years early from high school and received an associate’s degree from her native college. It is then she decided to drop her idea of going back to school and instead started pursuing her intention to make the record full-time.

Apart from making it to the Guinness Book of Record, Lexie also self-funded her traveling. Roaming the world over needs plenty of money but Lexie managed to grab some branded deals all through her journey mostly by being active on her Instagram page.

She also earned through her blogging and photography and will be soon seen co-hosting a travel show on the air.
