The Ace actor of the Hindi Film Industry, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was sent a legal notice demanding a divorce from his wife Aaliya. The notice also demanded maintenance and cited ‘serious problems’ as the reason.
If reports are to be believed, Nawazuddin’s wife Aaliya has filed for divorce and has accused the actor and his family of physically and mentally torturing her. She has demanded sole custody of their kids – Shora and Yaani Siddiqui. She also accused Nawaz of not meeting the family for 3-4 months and allegedly said that Nawazuddin ‘doesn’t care about them’. Clarifying that the actor never physically abused her, it is the constant shouting and arguments that pushed her to take the decision. Aaliya has accused the actor’s brother Shamas of beating her.
Responding to the reports, Shamas Siddiqui, the actor’s brother, said that he was not aware of the divorce or the legal notice sent to his brother Nawazuddin. In an interview with Zee News, he said he didn’t know anything about the legal notice and only got to know through news channels. He further denied commenting on the allegations of Aaliya.
Serious Allegations
Aaliya’s lawyer, Abhay Sahay, also spoke to Zee News and confirmed that the notice was sent to Nawazuddin on the 7th of May through email and Whatsapp. The actor is yet to respond. He further told Zee News,
“I would not like to get into the details of the notice regarding what are the contents and what are the allegations, but let me tell you that the allegations are quite serious and those are very sensitive to Mr. Siddiqui as well as his family members.”
On Monday, the actor tweeted that he is in his mother’s house in Budhana of Muzaffarnagar district and has been quarantined. He wrote,
“Due to the recent loss of my younger sister, my mother, who is 71 years old, got an anxiety attack twice. We have followed all the guidelines issued by the state government. We are #HomeQuarantined at our hometown Budhana. Please #StaySafe #StayHome.”
The actor and his family apparently underwent medical screening and also tested negative for the coronavirus. Nawazuddin and Aaliya have been married since 2009.
