A Quick Look At The Box-Office Collection Of KGF – Chapter 1

KGF Chapter 1 has collected Rs.25 crore worldwide on the first day of its release. It became the first Kannada movie ever in history to see such an opening. In Bengaluru itself, the film has managed to bag about Rs.5 crore on Day 1. At the first weekend, the film’s collections stood around Rs.60 crore from all its versions.

With Rs.113 crore grossing worldwide in the first week of its release, KGF became the first Kannada movie to cross Rs.100 crore mark. By the end of 50 days, KGF Chapter 1 grossed over Rs.250 Crore to emerge as all-time eight highest-grossing South Indian film at Indian Box-office.

Also, KGF – Chapter 1 becomes fourth highest grossing Hindi dubbed film only after Bahubali Franchise and 2.0. The film saw its theatrical release in India on 21st December 2018 and digital release on 5th February 2019.

A Massive Release

KGF-Chapter 1 had its release in 1,800 – 2,200 screens worldwide to become the first-ever widest release for a Kannada film. However, as per the latest reports, it was released in 2,460 screens (Hindi: 1,500, Telugu and Kannada: 400, Tamil:100, and Malayalam: 60). The Hindi version of KGF got released in Pakistan in 71 screens. With this, it became the first Kannada cinema to have a theatrical release in this country.
