
The results of the 2020 SSLC examination results of Karnataka state was published in the late afternoon of Monday.
This year, there are a total of six students who have secured 625 out of 625 marks in the examination. The previous year, there were only two students who achieved this rare feat. The first rank has been awarded to Sannidhi Mahabaleshwar of Sirsi’s Marikamba School.
Chirayu KS of St. Mary’s High School of Nagasandra also secured the complete marks. Among others who have managed to achieve this feat is Bangalore’s Nikhilesh N Murali of Poorna Prajna Education Center, Hubbali’s Dheeraj Reddy MP of Satya Sai Saraswati English Medium Boys High School, Sulya’s Anush AL of Kumaraswamy English Medium High School, Chikkamagalur’s Tanmayee MP of St. Joseph Convent Girls High School.
A Momentous Task In Pandemic
Amidst the pandemic, 52,219 evaluators have valued the papers of over 8 lakh students. The evaluation that began on the 14th of June went on for days. In Bengaluru urban and rural, it began a little late due to the lockdown.
On the overall result front, the state witnessed 71.80 pass percentage in this year. In the previous year, the percentage was slightly higher at 73.70. Among the 8 lakh students who appeared, over 5,82,316 students have successfully cleared the examination. The results in the government school are higher than the aided school. While the result was 72.79 at government schools, the aided and private schools procured results of 70.60 and 82.31 percent respectively.
It is to be noted that the SSLC examination of this year was conducted amidst a global novel coronavirus pandemic. Despite several oppositions, the government went ahead to achieve the task of successfully conducting the examination and has widely been successful in its attempt. This attempt by the government should be lauded.
