In a shocking incident that has come to light in Kanyakumari, a Bharat Mata statue was covered by the police after a few Christain Missionaries complained that the statue hurt their religious sentiments. The police also arrested the Hindus who protested. However, a few hours later, the statue was uncovered courtesy a few Hindu organizations.
