Kanika Kapoor to be investigated by Police

Kanika Kapoor who was discharged recently after she tested negative for the novel coronavirus will now be investigated by the police under the Indian penal code section 269 and 270.

Kanika Kapoor, the pop singer of Bollywood famous for her breakout song ‘Baby Doll’ has lately been a punching bag on the internet. While she was tested positive for the coronavirus, she had broken the code of isolation and had thrown a party in which there were guests from all walks of life. According to a report, Kanika has been in contact with at least 300 families before being confirmed for the infection. However, the authorities immediately quarantined the primary contacts but the Internet took over.

Kanika Kapoor was not spared legally too as an FIR was filed by Lucknow’s Chief Medical Officer Narendra Kumar Agarwal at the Sarojini Nagar police station under IPC section 188, 269 and 270. Two more FIRs were filed against the singer at Hazratganj police station and Gomti Nagar police station.

Kanika Kapoor to be investigated

Kanika Kapoor is now back to her home after successfully recovering from the COVID-19 and will be under home quarantine for the 14 days. However, she will be interrogated by the Lucknow police soon after her quarantine period is complete.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police Central Lucknow, Dinesh Kumar Singh spoke to the media and said that on the basis of the FIR lodged against Kanika Kapoor on charges of negligently committing an act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life and disobeying an order duly promulgated by a public servant.

From television media to social media, Kanika was strongly criticized for her negligent behavior in a medical crisis. While Kanika pleaded innocent claiming she was screened at the airport and was given clearance. Although, the internet neglected that and pounced upon her. The controversy continues to surround her even after her recovery.

Kanika Kapoor was tested positive for the COVID-19 five times before her sixth test turned out to be negative on Sunday. The popular singer was admitted at the SPGPIMS hospital. The singer is currently in her residence at Lucknow.
