Well, when we say Majestic, there is a mention of Gandhi Nagar, KG Road, and a couple of single-screen theatres. Also, there is one place called Janatha hotel where you not only get awesome Masala Dose’s but their menu has something worth to try out. While searching the hidden gems of the city, we found this place in the quaint area of Majestic. Come, let’s see what’s there for us to eat and enjoy.
The 50-Year-Old Hotel
You go to any Janatha hotel, Masala Dose is a must-have item because every Janatha hotel in the city has maintained that unique taste, since years. This Hotel near Kempe Gowda circle too serves a delicious Masala Dose but we are interested in something else. You need not have to come to this Janatha hotel to have Masala Dose, right? Then what for we are recommending this place? It is for a heavenly Coconut Halwa and Super-smooth Hot Gulab Jamoon. Woah!
Exceptional Coconut Halwa and Bisi Bisi Gulab Jamoon
You might have tasted a different kind of desserts but this is the only place in Bengaluru where you get to eat Coconut Halwa (as far as we know). It will be served in a tiny bowl. The moment you take the first bite, the flavors of coconut and ghee will sweep your mouth. The gusto of coconut will remain for a while. Here, you see that it is not too sweetish and whatever the ingredients put are just in a sink with everything. The matchless aroma of cardamom coupled with fried dry fruits, you will never get a Coconut Halwa of this kind, anywhere in Bengaluru.
Once you finish the Coconut Halwa, go for Gulab Jamoon. It will be smoking hot, smoother, and super-glossy. Just touch the spoon to break the Jamoon ball, it will be so soft that it doesn’t take a second to melt in your mouth. While you eat, you feel that cardamom and Cova flavors. Usually, Jamoons will be heavily sweetish but here, it is just a perfect mix of everything.
Vada Sambar + Chutney is a Must
After eating coconut halwa and Jamoon, one should go for Single Vada Sambar. A crispy and soft Vada dipped in an authentic Bengaluru Sambar is one of the specials in Janata hotel. Take a piece of Vada soaked in Sambar, put some chutney on it and gobble. You feel WOW!!
