In one of the important decisions that were derived out of the conference, Modiji said:“There seems to be a consensus among the states on the extension of lockdown by another two weeks.” This means that the lockdown could be extended for a few more weeks.
The other topics that were discussed during the conference
PM Modi discussed strengthening healthcare infrastructure and reaching out to patients through telemedicine and also suggested that direct marketing for farm produce can be incentivized to prevent crowding in mandis, for which model APMC laws should be reformed swiftly. This way, the PM felt farmers would find it easy to sell their products at the point of production.
Modi also appreciated efforts of the individual states in tackling the issue and also felt that the successful coordination between the state and center has allowed the number of cases to remain stable in the country.
However, Modiji added that the next 3-4 weeks will be crucial for the country in fighting the pandemic.
