In a recent interview, Kantara actor Rishab Shetty completely ignored Pushpa 2 actress. He went on to hint that he is not interested in working with Rashmika Mandanna.
Rishab refuses to work with Rashmika
The Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara has made more than Rs 400 crore at the worldwide box office and is still going strong. Actor, writer, and director Rishab Shetty has been on cloud nine but an interview of his sparked off major headlines.
In a recent interview, Rishab Shetty was asked if he wants to collaborate with the “top actresses” in the south Indian cinema industry, namely, Sai Pallavi, Samantha, Rashmika, and Keerti Suresh. Rishab Shetty responded “I decide my actors once I finish my script. I prefer working with newcomers as they come with no barriers. These actors, I don’t like them (mai actors ko script likhne ke baad choose karta hoon, aur mujhe ‘iss’ type ke actress, I don’t like them).”
The air quotes
He was apparently referring to Rashmika Mandanna where he used air quotes for saying ‘iss type ke actress’.

And the reason why he did that is an older interview, where Rashmika Mandanna used air quotes to refer to the production house which was founded by Rishab Shetty and Rakshit Shetty, whom she was engaged to. Rishab and Rakshit are good friends and they co-founded Paramvah Studios.
It looks like the Kantara actor took offense to the way Rashmika referred to their production house. He said in the same interview that Samantha and Sai Pallavi are ‘real artists’ and the best actresses right now. He hoped that Samantha would get better soon and come back soon, as the audience loved her.
