Irfan Knew About His Death For 2 yrs, Said ‘I’m Observing It Approaching Me’: Naseeruddin

The loss of the legendary superstar Irfan was indeed a greatest loss of the country. Not just Bollywood, everyone who knows him could feel the unbearable pain of his demise. In one of the recent interviews, another legendary artist Naseeruddin Shah had talked about the death of actor Irrfan Khan in one of his interviews. He says that late actor Irrfan Khan knew about his death for almost two years. They knew it was going to happen.

Irfan- An Artist Beyond A Great Human Being

It is worth noting that Irfan Khan had said goodbye to this world last year while fighting a battle with cancer. Naseeruddin and Irrfan Khan have worked together in several films including Maqbool and 7 Khoon Maaf. Naseeruddin Shah said in his interview that he had talked to Irrfan Khan many times.

Irrfan knew for two years that he was going to die. He said that even when Irfan was in a London hospital, he had a conversation with him. It was a surprising and real lesson in how Irrfan has to deal with death. He said he would say, ”I see death coming to me and how many people get this chance? By being able to see death coming towards you, you are almost welcoming it. Of course it was a terrible loss. But it was not in our hands. Your bodily machinery was shutting down. You have no control over this.”

Naseeruddin Shah says he doesn’t think it’s healthy to obsess about death. He said, I don’t do that. I have experienced many deaths of people close to me. Including my family members, parents, dear friends etc. The death of Om Puri and Farooq Sheikh was a terrible blow to the fair. But it is not good to focus on it. I think death is the most insignificant part of life. I don’t pay attention to it at all. When I have to die, I’ll die. I want to be as alert and alive as possible for as long as I am around. I do not want friends to mourn after my death. I want them to remember me for the life I have lived. Let’s not talk about how I died?
