Bengaluru Joins Delhi And Hyderabad To Become The Top Most Indian Cities Attracting Talent

The latest LinkedIn India Workforce Report says that Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad are the topmost Indian cities attracting talent. The report reveals the fact that most of the young job seekers are now migrating to these top metro cities in the country for finding jobs.

Last year Mumbai was at the third place in this list which has now been claimed by Hyderabad.

Software & IT Services Top Most In-Demand

The report says that software engineering & IT services, and business management skills are the most in-demand professions in the country. The LinkedIn report that captured trends between July and December 2018 took into consideration the fastest and the largest growing industries, top international and Indian destinations and top in-demand skills.

The aim of the study was to find out where the Indian talent is moving to. Manufacturing and finance and corporate are also few of the professions finding a place in the topmost Indian cities attracting talent list.

The social networking platform has more than 55 million members in the country with software engineer being the leading position hired in most of the industries.

According to Country Manager-India, LinkedIn, Mahesh Narayanan, “We have seen that software engineering and business management are the most sought-after jobs in 2018 in India across industries, as well as for talent moving outside India.”

He further added,” Another interesting finding is Hyderabad making it amongst the top three cities attracting talent, preceding Mumbai at number four. The broader goal is to use these insights to inform policy-making in the skills, education and employment sectors.”

Finance And Fitness Fastest Growing Industries

The “India Workforce Report (Professional Edition) H2 2018” second edition said that finance, wellness, and fitness were the fastest growing industries in last year’s second half followed by real estate, legal and entertainment.

The Microsoft-owned professional social media network revealed that healthcare is among the top 5 fastest growing industries in five major cities including Hyderabad and Mumbai.

The report says, “Even in the rapidly growing wellness and fitness industry, there was a high demand for software engineers, particularly among related web and mobile applications, data analytics companies and online pharmaceutical players.”

Growing Demand For Data Analyst In Healthcare Sector

It is interesting to note that healthcare is the rapidly growing industry in India but it is the demand for data analyst in healthcare and fitness that is gaining more prominence.

In New Delhi and Mumbai, the major focus is on management skills whereas Bengaluru being the IT hub the greater emphasis is on programming and technical skills.

On the global front, the US is still the topmost destination attracting Indians outside the country with every 1 in 3 immigrants from India seeking a job in the US. The other four topmost destinations after the US include UAE, Canada, the UK, and Australia.  

The findings revealed that 70% of emigrants from India moved to these countries. Germany is the largest in-demand corridor both into and out from India and Germany.
