The Bengaluru Police and civic bodies are planning to take up diversions to control the traffic in four bottlenecks in the city. The officials have implemented a new advisory policy that modifies vehicular movement from specific regions in an effort to relieve congestion on the infamous Hebbal overpass.
Officials have implemented a new advisory
Bengaluru’s congested Hebbal flyover has finally been taken up by city officials, who have created a new set of rules. The area sees one of the worst traffic jams in the city and impacts the flyover which connects Bengaluru city to the airport.
The traffic police said vehicles heading towards the city from Yelahanka, Jakkur, Kodigehalli, and Kempapura will not move on the main road near Manipal Hospitals and Esteem Mall because the crossover points at these two places have been shut. These vehicles will have to take the service road and turn left at Hebbal Junction towards K R Puram and move towards the city.
To ease up traffic
Also, the vehicles going to Kempapura from Bengaluru airport, Devanahalli, and Chikkajala should take the service road near Vidyashilp Academy in Yelahanka and then turn left near Esteem Mall. According to the update, traffic regulations went into effect at 6 am on Friday.
“Some measures to be taken at Hebbal junction to prevent vehicular traffic: A study has been done to solve the problem of vehicular traffic at Hebbal Junction. The following measures are directed to be taken with the collaboration and coordination of the Bangalore Traffic Police, BBMP, BMRCL, NHA, etc. These changes have been proposed after studying the flow of vehicles at this junction, checking the data and factors causing traffic congestion,” the police tweeted.
