The journey of Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2023 has come to an end. After failing to make the playoffs in the current season, their wait for a trophy has been extended by another year.
Following a loss to defending champions Gujarat Titans, RCB were eliminated from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Despite Kohli’s record seventh IPL century, RCB were defeated as Shubman Gill also scored a century. Gill’s ton helped GT win by six wickets, effectively ending the Bengaluru franchise’s season. Following RCB’s demise, Lucknow Super Giants pacer Naveen’s Instagram story enraged many Kohli fans.
Naveen, who had an infamous spat with Kohli on May 1 during the RCB vs LSG league match, shared a cryptic post of a popular meme of an African anchor laughing on live TV. This was allegedly a dig at Kohli and RCB for failing to qualify for the playoffs while the Super Giants did.
