Bollywood actress and former Congress party member Urmila Matondkar has launched an attack on Kangana Ranaut over her recent remarks about the alleged drug culture and movie mafia in Bollywood. Kangana, who has been on a crusade to seek justice for Sushant Singh Rajput after the actor’s death by alleged suicide has exchanged a series of jibes back and forth with Shiv Sena and bureaucrats representing the state of Maharashtra.
Kangana had drawn a parallel between Mumbai and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which sparked outrage on social media. Actress Urmila has reacted to Kangana’s recent remarks on Mumbai and the alleged drug culture in the Hindi film industry. The Kalyug actress lashed out at Kangana and insisted that the Bollywood star should start her narrative with her own state first if she wants to talk about the alleged drug menace in the Hindi film industry.
Urmila, who is fondly remembered for her roles in Masoom and Narsimha, said that the entire country is facing the menace of drugs. “Does she (Kangana) know Himachal is the origin of drugs? She should start from her own state,” Urmila was quoted saying by India Today.
“Why did this person who has been given Y-security from the taxpayers’ money didn’t give information about the drug nexus to the police?” she added. Reacting strongly to Kangana’s recent remarks about the financial capital following her controversial visit, Urmila asserted that Mumbai belongs to everyone and she will tolerate any defamatory remark against the city.
